Arts for Wellbeing and Enterprise (AWE)

Arts for Wellbeing and Enterprise (AWE) is a new project for adults with mental health problems, taking place across the Wigan borough during 2010. It's a chance to explore your creativity in a supportive group environment - and look at all sorts of interesting enterprise ideas.

The first arts course has now finished.

The second arts course runs for 10 weeks on Thursday afternoons from 13th May 2010 at Norley Hall Community Centre, Norley Hall Avenue, Wigan, WN5 9LP.

The first enterprise course runs for 10 weeks on Wednesday mornings from 21st April 2010 at Turnpike Gallery, Leigh.

Develop your creative talent and learn new skills in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, by joining in arts sessions with skilled artists and taking part in an inspiring and fun 'Introduction to Enterprise' course.

No previous experience or knowledge is needed and both the arts and enterprise courses are free, with all materials supplied. You can attend one of the courses or both and there is no pressure to start up your own business (although support will be on hand if you would like to have a go!)

You can get involved with an art show and sale of work, explore new ways of creating new enterprises using the arts, and help to develop a new organisation to provide long term opportunities for artists.

There will be four programmes during the year in different parts of the Borough, so if you can't make this course there will be two other chances to be involved.
