Storm & Brooks

Wondrous water world adventures

As part of Darnhill Festival, Tell Us Another One worked with five primary schools to produce a radio play about three characters entering a watery world of mythical rain forests and a kingdom in the clouds.

The captivating stories were produced by Harwood Park Primary School, Heap Bridge Primary School, Hopwood Community Primary School, St Luke’s CE Primary School and St Margaret’s Primary School, working with professional writers Louise Wallwein and Martin Stannage.

The tales were brought to life by visual artist Isobel Pickup, young people from M6 Theatre who starred in the radio play, and it was recorded and edited by ALLfm’s Jason Cooke.

There are five episodes which take you on a magical journey to five different watery worlds. Listen to the following episodes on Cartwheel Arts Audio Boom Channel:

They Mystical Rain forest

The Cloud Kingdom

The River Roch Monster

Aquarium Adventure

A drop in the Ocean

As well as the radio play we worked with a class of pupils to produce and present a radio show for ALL FM live at Darnhill Festival filled with interviews, live music and chat. There was also an opportunity on the day for residents to have a go presenting, writing their own links, poetry and spoken word to perform on the radio and on the Darnhill Festival stage. Not forgetting singer songwriter Claire Mooney, who worked with several participants of all ages to produce a song which they performed to end the fantastic event.
