fff?text=Art for Wellbeing 2

Cartwheel Arts, Art for Wellbeing programme supports Art & Soul and provides project and exhibition management to the group.  Art & Soul are participant- led and the Heywood Next Steps offer within CRESS.

Art & Soul have a brand new blog! https://artandsoulgroup.wordpress.com

Each member has thier own page on the blog and we update with photos and information at the end of each project.

Originally members of the Art for Wellbeing project, they found the project to be so beneficial that when the funding finished (2009) they decided to set up as a user led group; something which Cartwheel are very happy to be supporting them with.

Currently the group consists of 12 members and they meet every week in Heywood.  Emotional Support Worker Stacey Coughlin supports the group and a different artist from our Art for Wellbeing practitioner team delivers each project.

The group is responsible for the creative direction of projects, recent themes the group have chosen include, Myths Legends and Folk Tales, Painted Music and Natural/Manmade.  The group has explored a range of techniques and processes through projects such as animation, portraiture, sculpture and collage.

The group regularly holds community exhibitions and most recently has exhibited at Gallery One, Touchstones Rochdale.
