Tell Us Another One

Tell Us Another One (TUAO) was a creative writing project funded by Big Lottery Fund Reaching Communities and supported by local authorities in three Greater Manchester boroughs the project operates in – Rochdale, Bury and Oldham. It ran for over nine years. Visit the archive website here



Darnhill Festival

Darnhill Festival has been a mainstay of summer on the Darnhill Estate since 2003. Almost always on the first Saturday in July, the Festival starts with a vibrant and noisy procession around the estate followed by a full afternoon of creative activities and entertainment. Darnhill is the ‘Lucky Festival’, never rained off and rarely rained on.

Art for Wellbeing products

We are developing an exciting schedule of events that will use a variety of creative mediums to improve wellbeing.



This National Lottery Heritage funded project ended in October 2020. It uncovered, explored and celebrated stories from the Manchester overspill estates...


Creative Lockdown

During the Lockdown for Covid-19 we set up a number of responses and projects to try and tackle some of the pre-existing and amplified inequalities that were likely to hit our communities harder than ever.



We currently offer various training courses on art and wellbeing for practicioners and organisations alike. We continually working on developing new bespoke courses, workshops and training to help develop fundamental skills for professionals and share best practice in the sector.



At Cartwheel Arts we publish a quarterly magazine Scribble and regular books with the collaboration of our participants and collaborating artists
