Art for Wellbeing Practitioners - Deadline Extended

Cartwheel Arts are looking to expand our Art for Wellbeing (AfW) Practitioner Team! This is a team of freelance practitioners who deliver projects aiming to enhance and improve wellbeing for our participants. Projects currently run in-person in Heywood and Deeplish and are often between 6-10 sessions long. Each session (up to 3.5hrs) is paid at £125 or £225 for a full day.  Practitioners must be registered as self-employed.


As an AfW Team Practitioner, you will need to share our passion for opening participation equally to all, irrespective of race, age, gender, faith,(dis)ability or sexual orientation, and for promoting the role the arts can play in wellbeing, social inclusion, regeneration, diversity and community cohesion.

Emotional Support Worker We are looking for an ESW with a therapeutic background and experience of working with adults and/or young people with mild to moderate mental health issues.  You will complete assessments with participants, support group dynamics during sessions and provide emotional support to participants who might be experiencing issues during the sessions. Additionally, we have an exciting range of creative training packages that the AfW team deliver.

Please note:

  • You should be a registered therapist or counsellor (though you will not be providing these services specifically during sessions)
  • We will try to arrange an interview on 24th/25th/26th Jan.
  • You will need to be available on Thursday 27th Jan from 12:15pm to have an ESW induction/shadowing opportunity.
  • You will have excellent communication, presentation and administration skills and ability to produce reports and Case Studies
  • You should have experience in delivering to groups on a regular basis
  • We are especially keen to to receive applications from individuals who also have an interest in visual art or experience of working in creative environments
  • We’re also especially interested in hearing from applicants who are able to communicate in any of these languages as well as English: Urdu / Punjabi / Kashmiri
