Stacey Coughlin

Stacey Coughlin is a Community Visual Artist, Counsellor and Emotional Support Worker. Working with a number of organisations, groups and participants her practice has developed through working with a variety of age ranges in different settings on projects and one off sessions for individuals to explore their wellbeing and creativity to various medias.

These have included workshops with children and young people’s in youth group activities and public workshops, to adults with mental health issues and her main area of interest working with older people in the community and permanent residential care.

A recent project that Stacey has developed is The Travelling Art Tent – a mobile art gallery that visits residents in residential homes funded by Arts Council England.

As an emotional support worker, Stacey provides counselling skills one-to-one in an art group setting. She has also provided counselling for older people in their own homes through Age UK Stockport.

Within her own artwork she is currently exploring the essence and architectural features of space and how these create a sense of place through photomontage and building materials.

Our Art for Wellbeing studio and delivery space in Rochdale, Dandelion Create, is an inspiring relaxed and creative space. All CRESS sessions are held at the venue. We utilise a main workshop space, smaller mezzanine floor delivery space, textiles area and display window to exhibit participants work. We also have a 1:1 room where we hold Emotional Support Worker sessions and Wellbeing Check Ins. Art & Soul
Art & Soul
Art & Soul is an Art and Support group, based in Heywood. Members are adults who have experienced mental health issues who live or work in the Rochdale Borough. Cartwheel Arts, Art for Wellbeing programme supports Art & Soul and provides project and exhibition management to the group. 2015 - Darnhill Festival
The festival was held on Saturday 4th July in and around Argyle Parade. This was the 12th consecutive summer festival organised by Cartwheel Arts in conjunction with Darnhill Festival Association and many believe it was the biggest yet. IMPACT: Led by You (2016)

Artful is our Rochdale provision of 'Next Steps' work, part of CRESS (Creative Referral Engagement and Support Service) Artful have exhibted at Touchstones Rochdale and Chapter One Books, Manchester and also support Art for Wellbeing Open Days. Creative Referral Engagement and Support Service, CRESS, funded by HMR Heywood Middleton and Rochdale CCG, provides a pathway service for Art for Wellbeing in Rochdale. A combination of taster sessions, Enter Art courses and Next Steps groups, the service allows for varying levels of engagement and supports wellbeing progression. Art & Soul Exhibition.

Young Facilitators
As part of CRESS, in 2017 we are trialling a Young Facilitators course. This course open to young adults aims to encourage art making skills alongside facilitation skills. Participants have the opportunity to learn how to teach art making techniques and then plan and host an open day at the Art for Wellbeing Studio, Dandelion Create. The group will then be offered a volunteer placement to support our Taster sessions. Childhood Obesity Summit

Do. Be. is an innovative and engaging online (blog) and offline project in Rochdale, designed to map cultural and sporting activities, which promote emotional wellbeing and resilience for young people in the borough.

Cartwheel Arts promotes social inclusion, cohesion, diversity and regeneration through community participation in vibrant, innovative, high-quality arts projects.
